Hello! I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A1650G here at home that I recently installed from scratch with Windows XP Home Edition. My problem is that the network card does not work at all. The network card is an Atheros AR5005G. The funny thing is that the computer will recognize and find the network card, but it can not find any network. I have installed all the bundled drivers and additionally updated them as best they can. There is a physical button on the computer that "control" the wireless network card, ie an on / off button, but nothing happens at all when I press it. The button has of course always been excellent. I'm not sure if this is a software problem, but from my knowledge it seems to be a configuration error somewhere that I have missed. Would be grateful for some tips and ideas! Erik
Check in Device Manager if you have any yellow question marks (driver not installed), or exclamation mark (wrong driver installed). If you have it, connect the network cable, right-click in catalogue the device, select Update Driver ... and run the Windows automatic update.
Thanks for your quick reply! There is a yellow question mark, but it's in catalogue over "Other devices in catalogue - Video Controller (VGA kompatil)". Under device manager it seems the network card work great as far as I can see.
Wireless network connection in catalogue is there but with red X, there are no messages in addition to Not Connected. No, I do not have a separate program. It's the same on all computers except "host computer".
Button on the wireless in catalogue link (the radio), so that the indicator light on the computer turns on. You must then either wait for a while, so the computer itself locates the available networks, or you are searching for wireless networks and connect yourself.
Nope, it can not find the network. Nor is it possible to manually set the SSID and those settings to connect. I start cmd and type ipconfig / all it says something like medium is not connected (is not home so the exact text, I can not produce).

Larsas
Okay, now I have installed the chipset driver using the supplied exe file, same with the Atheros driver, and additionally added .sys file from the small 0.25 MB download. in catalogue Completely without results! Have read somewhere that there is absolutely, definitely in catalogue the first to do the re-installation of the operating system is to install the chipset drivers, I'm not totally sure if I did so, this could possibly be the problem? Do I need if so start over again?
One should always begin with the chip, but if you install it again and then the driver in catalogue for the wireless, it should work. If you turn off the wireless radio button it says media is disconnected when you run ipconfig / all. If you are looking for wireless networks list becomes empty. If you turned the card over network connections, or if the computer does not find the card / broken, there is not with the ipconfig / all. Then there is also the possibility to search for wireless networks. If you have the wrong driver, you will see this in Device Manager as a yellow exclamation mark on the wireless card. Unfortunately, it may look OK, despite in catalogue a
