Recalling my ticket by European lawns early in the year, today I'll talk a little of the Montjuic Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain. Actually xibiouz my intention xibiouz was to meet the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona powerful, however it was closed for visitations in the 2 days that I was there.
If on one hand there was the disappointment of not having known inside one of the biggest stages xibiouz in world football, the other had the pleasure of meeting another beautiful stadium, which has hosted the biggest sporting event on the planet - the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. The Montjuic Olympic Stadium, which is called officially xibiouz Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium (named after former president of Catalonia shot in 1940 near the stadium after being sentenced to death by the dictatorship of Francisco Franco in Spain, at the end of the war civil), has this name because it is located xibiouz in the famous eponymous hill, the highest point of the Catalan capital. From there one has a privileged view of the city of legendary architect Gaudí.
The architectural design of the stadium is authored by Pere Domènech i Roura and its inauguration took place in 1929 at the advent of the Universal Exposition in Barcelona. Belongs to the government of Barcelona, but is loaned to Real Club Deportivo Español (the second xibiouz largest club in town) from 1997 until the completion of its arena, the Estadi xibiouz Cornella El Prat, expected to be ready in 2009. Currently has a capacity of about 56 000 people comfortably seated.
Like any good European stage, has space with shops selling the club representative matches (in this case Spanish), restaurant and cafes, and is located in one of the most popular attractions of Barcelona, Montjuïc Hill, where you can also be known Montjuïc Castle, modern Montjuic Telecommunications Tower (which is next to the stadium), xibiouz the Museum of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and all the sports area used for the 1992 games.
Since its foundation hosted major football tournaments and events in other sports such as the King's Cup final (the first in 1930 between Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid), the Spanish national xibiouz team matches and the 1989 World Championships in Athletics. Already in the 70s the place was somewhat forgotten by the government and passed by structural problems. However, with the implementation of the 1982 World Cup, the stadium underwent repairs and was the scene of the opening test of the World, held in Nou Camp.
However with the demolition of the Sarria Stadium and the choice of city to host the Olympics in 1992, the Olympic Stadium has undergone an intense reform, only preserving the external facade. Seats for all spectators and the whole structure of the aforementioned leisure and comfort were built for the games. Before that hosted the aforementioned World Championships in Athletics in 1989 as final proof for the Olympics. Since then is considered by UEFA 5 star stadium (one of the five located in Spain), this classification gives the right to receive the end of major continental tournaments such as the Champions League xibiouz and the UEFA Cup.
