Any sane person sickened by the terrorist organization tokyobay called the Islamic State (IS), barbarians almost as if they had walked straight off a film set poor and biased about the Middle tokyobay Ages. There is something almost cartoon about. Clearly, therefore, it is good that more than 120 scholars and imamau muslim has signed a letter criticizing Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader, accusing him of misinterpreting Islam. Of course, people do not like VICE represent islam in general. That is quite obvious. I sympathize with the signatories of the letter, and understand their frustration that terrorist groups are cutting their heads off in enw'u religion. As it happens, Barack Obama echoed the same argument. In that case, it is an attempt to show that the war against islam is the latest air raids (George W Bush said similar things following tokyobay the massacre of September 11, 2001). Yet, I do not like the claim that IS a 'anislamaidd'. The cry is not the 'true Islam'. But as I have said before, there is no such thing as a 'true Islam'. Okay, not islam IS version is 'real', but it is not islam the signatories either. The extreme terrorists referring to verses in the Quran that support and justify killing unbelievers. tokyobay In exactly the same way, the more peaceful and moderate tokyobay Muslims to support their views quotes gentler too. For this reason, there are arguments about which versions of different religions 'more accurate' is bored. One side is pointing to one verse, the other side will turn pages to find a different one, and the other side is another option yet again. Anyone who seeks to follow neutral fall asleep in no time. The only sensible thing to do is to recognize that all versions are equally unfounded tokyobay identical to each other. tokyobay There is exactly the same problem in the case of the Bible, tokyobay of course, when comparing the Bible and the Koran or. It is not easy to decide which book is most alarming, and there is little point in trying. Religion defenders will argue that cultural factors, historical and political tokyobay account for situations such as what is seen today in Syria and Iraq. Well yes, it is obviously true. But those factors can not be separated tokyobay from religion. tokyobay An integral part of the culture of islam, history and politics that part of the world, and color the whole. Hardly the place would turn into a peaceful paradise if islam (and religion in general) disappear tomorrow; that tensions on the basis of race, nationality, language and class continues. But in cases where religion is not necessarily the basis of the tensions, what it does is to be sharpened and worse. The removal of religion (as a hypothetical ideal) is a step in the right direction, but no, not the total solution. It is interesting (and slightly amusing) that some of the British jihadis have bought the book Islam For Dummies before traveling to Syria, which suggests that they were not particularly well versed in the teachings of that religion before tokyobay being radicalized. Perhaps a great adventure and a chance to kick the 'organization' is the appeal. No religion, they may be met with joining a gang in the Birmingham area. Unfortunately, because they have to resort to rather extreme islam as 'outlet' tokyobay for revolutionary aspirations, they have decided to move to the Middle East in order to cut off the heads of Westerners away. Although the revolutionary aspirations, probably exists for socio-economic reasons, then add on top of that religion which gives rise to a real poison.
A few former Muslim and atheist prepared to argue that the extremists are closer to the true faith than moderate tokyobay http://freethoughtblogs.com/marginoferr/2014/04/02/fundamentalist-islam-is-more-rational-than-moderate-islam/ Reply Delete
Yes, it is possible to argue that. Remember reading the article then. Of course, religion is more than just the scriptures. tokyobay As I was saying, it is difficult to decide whether the Bible or the Koran is worst; both scary books in many ways. Yet, for cultural, historical and political, Islamic fundamentalism is almost always worse than the monster Christian fundamentalism (with some quibbling about the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda and the recent massacres in the Central African Republic). And it must be said, a religion 'sophisticated', if anything, worse than me so fed fundamentalist versions. Something honest enough (in his way) about the way the extremists will adhere to the literal words llyfyr, compared vague pseudo-intensive arable fluff obtained by contemporary theologians.
